The next Lamborghini could be an off-roading supercar called 'The Safari'
The rumours also talk of the next Aventador being a hybrid...
If you've been sitting around thinking that Lamborghini has gone a little quiet after the Huracan Performante monstered the 'Ring, the latest speculations surrounding the company may reignite the Raging Bull's flame in your mind. According to Automobile Magazine, we're on the verge of an Aventador replacement, an updated Huracan and a lifted, all-terrain supercar.
Apparently, Lambo are taking the Audi Nanuk concept released back in 2013 and applying the same formula to a Huracan, calling it 'The Safari'. Although the concept of an off-roading supercar has been floating around the VW Group for quite some time now, it seems it'll finally be the Huracan that will take on the outlandish project.
The Audi Nanuk concept car was revealed at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show but was never taken further by Audi.
Other large changes in the company that have trickled down the grape vine come in the shape of Porsche taking over majority control of Lamborghini, shifting from the Audi shackles of the last 19 years. This comes at a time when VW seem to be shifting the other premium brands in its arsenal to being under Porsche's wing, with Audi themselves, Bentley and Bugatti in line to make the shift to Stuttgart leadership.
Along with the Safari model, the Huracan is also touted to get Speedster, Barchetta, Targa, SV and GT3 Stradale variants in the coming years. Another huge call made by the magazine is that the thunderous Lamborghini V10 will be no more, replaced by a Porsche-sourced V8, along with some hybridisation in some specific models.
The engineering trend of hybridisation seems to have finally grasped Lamborghini by the throat, as the replacement for the Aventador is also set to feature an 800bhp 7.0-litre V12 coupled with a 'soft-hybrid' system. This can be seen as a massive leap for Lamborghini's halo car, bringing it up to scratch with the latest machinery from McLaren, Ferrari and Porsche. On the other hand, it'll be sad to see the sole presence of the Lamborghini V12 squandered by electronics, but the increase in performance should be more than worth the shift.
What is your opinion on these recent rumours from Lamborghini? Which would you like to come true, and which of them should stay circulating the rumour mill forever? Comment with your thoughts below!

1995 Aixam Mega Track, was the first I think.
Fitted with a Mercedes V12 aswell 👀
Much rather it be an Audi. Lamborghini cars are low and fast on tarmac. If we'd like to go truely ofroad in one, then the make supplies plenty of agricultural equipment for such purpose.
Audi on the other hand, have a far more extensive history creating and producing all road capable and insanely quick motors. Plus, the Audi brand in this form of context emphesizes its previouly perceived "Butch" sort of character, in opposition to Lambo's rather more exquisit driving experience.
I think the off-road supercar fits the Audi brand better. Something like a lifted R8 crossed with the original Quattro comes to mind. The only off-roader Lamborghini should make is the Urus.
look exactly like a r8
It's a photo of an old concept based on the R8, not the actual lamborghini
explain a lot ahah thx
A bit like the Zarooq SandRacer
