The Original Invincible Toyota Spotted!

The original invincible pick up truck

As we all know from watching Top Gear and images of insurgent and militant vehicles, we know the Toyota Hilux is one of the toughest, most resilient, and most reliable cars in the world. Spanning over 8 generations, the Hilux began production in 1968 replacing the Toyota Briska as Toyota's "luxury" pick up truck.

I unexpectedly spotted this mint condition bad boy while out delivering food. As you can guess, I immediately rushed back to see if this wonderful piece of history and engineering was still there. To my luck, it still was and I just had to take some close up pictures before I have to go get my next order. While most markets got a 1.5L and 1.6L inline four engine producing around 77bhp, surprisingly North American markets got either a 1.9L or 2.0L model producing between 86bhp and 110bhp.

The great thing about this particular Hilux is that it also has a commercial number plate meaning this beautiful, mint Hilux is not just for show.

Definitely a happy sight to see a beautiful classic like this being used the way it should be used.

And the giant Toyota logo on the back is just one of the most iconic rear logos ever in my opinion. What do you think of this Hilux?
