The Porsche Taycan Turbo S challenges the McLaren 720S Spider in a drag race!
Duel between an electric saloon and an ICE supercar
The arrival of electric cars has created a new classico in drag races. With their breathtaking performance, these vehicles are largely capable of competing with the best thermal cars. So, once again we have a duel involving an ICE supercar and an electric sedan.
The Porsche Taycan Turbo S, one of the fastest sedans on the market, is facing the McLaren 720S Spider, which is none other than one of the most efficient supercars of the moment. Two queens will therefore compete against each other in the traditional drag race. The German first has two electric motors providing all-wheel drive.
These two motors develop a total output of 761 hp and 1050 Nm of torque. With its 93 kWh battery, the Porsche is also particularly heavy with 2370 kg on the scale. On the other hand, the English supercar has an even sportier look and a smaller size. Under the bonnet is a 4.0-litre V8 with 720 hp and 770 Nm of torque.
The 720S Spider, although heavier than the coupé version, has a much more contained mass than the Taycan with only 1,468 kg. Here the engine sends its power to the rear wheels. Can the McLaren beat the Porsche?
