The Porsche Taycan will feature in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

4w ago

With the new Star Wars movie, Rise of the Skywalker, coming out December 20th of this year, a new partnership has arisen. And what a great partnership it is: Porsche! The masterminds behind the Taycan released a video on announcing the new partnership; this video also provided you with some exclusive movie footage!

Unsurprisingly, Porsche chose their new electric car, the Taycan. In the video below, you can see the Taycan "Kick Up Dust" as it goes full throttle through the desert, charging (no pun intended) toward to TIE Fighter.

This goes without saying, but the Porsche partnership is a huge improvement from the Nissan Rogue. For those who need a quick refresher, Nissan partnered up with Star Wars, and the Rogue was the featured car. Nissan even went to the lengths of making a Star Wars edition of the Rogue, which was nothing more than an aesthetic package. Changes that were made to the Star Wars edition were new badges designed in collaboration with Lucasfilm, two new exclusive interior trims, an exclusive exterior design, and a Death Trooper collectible helmet. Nissan only made 5,400 units for the U.S and Canadian markets. Let's just say a Taycan is a huge step up from the Rogue.

For those who have been living in a hole, the Taycan is Porsche's new electric car. The Taycan starts off at $103,800 for the basic model, but the one everybody loves is the Turbo S, which is the one that is in Rise of the Skywalker. The 0-60 is 2.6 seconds, with 750 horsepower when using launch control. If you aren't using launch control, you are limited to "only" 616 horsepower.

I've never been a huge fan of the Star Wars series, but now I might have a reason to go watch the Rise of the Skywalker! Let me know what you think in the comments down below!
