The Project 8 was always just a big Hot Wheels car
And now we have a tiny one to go with it...
Let's be honest with ourselves here for a second: the Jaguar Project 8 is a Hot Wheels car that had come to life. An eye searing orange paint job, a massive rear wing, and ridiculously huge graphics all slapped onto a car that has no business wearing such things. That's kind of Hot Wheels' deal, right?
The Project 8 is both ludacris and a certified badass all in one. It shreds tires and eats AMG and M cars for breakfast. It'll hit 60 in a tick over 3 seconds and cost you as much as the average house price in Mississippi. I actually had the honor of simply existing in one's presence, and let me tell you: you want one.
Hot Wheels has been straight fire lately, and we can chalk the Jag Project 8 up as another incredible release. It is yet another contribution to 2019's line-up which has seen some of the best Hot Wheels mainlines in recent years. I've been excited about this one since they teased it over the summer, and I'm happy to report that they absolutely nailed it. Full tampos don the front and rear of the car and are fully detailed down to the tiny egg-crate brake vents. The only thing we miss out on are the gigantic leaping cat graphics on the rear doors. Some people prefer their 8's that way, but I think they are a must have to complete the whole ensemble.
You should already be seeing this one on the pegs at your local hunting grounds. I believe GameStop also has an exclusive blue colorway issued for their first K-Day event. Fire orange does the trick for me, I might even get a second to chop the wing off. Apparently Jaguar will let you do that too, but again, why would you want to?
