The rarest and most powerful Ford Focus RS 50 EVO is for sale for a crazy price
Want to own the rarest and mightiest 'production' MK3 Focus? Here's your chance, but prepare to pay a hefty price.
TrustFord dealer network has been given the rights to sell off two of just three Focus RS50 EVOs ever made.
Built by Mountune on official order from Ford for the 50th anniversary of the 'Rally Sport' the RS50 Evo gets the MounTunes M400R package which adds a high-flow induction kit, uprated turbo re-circ valve, high-flow hard pipe, high-performance alloy intercooler, three inch downpipe with 200-cell sports catalyst, and a three inch V3 cat-back exhaust. All this brings the power up to 400hp.
It's also got Fifteen52 alloys, forged pistons, steel rods, short shift arm form mountune, DCC adjustable coilovers, an extended carbon fibre wing and a few others bits of kit listed below.
Only three were ever built and until now none were sold to the public. But if you fancy having one in your garage prepare to spend no less than 85,000 of your finest British pounds, as that's the reserve price on the TrustFord auction running until the 31st of January.
The only reason the RS50 EVO commands such a price tag is the rarity. But quite honestly it's still quite... well it's much too much for a tuned up RS which you could build for less than half the asking price.
Okay so I'm exaggerating here a little – there is something a little special about these cars being rare and all, but not quite enough to justify the price tag, as you can still purchase most if not all the parts fitted to the three cars. It shouldn't rival a Escort or Sierra Cosworth in terms of pricing.
You could a buy a delivery mileage Focus RS for about £35,000, add the M400 pack for £3995, the Fiften52 HoleshHot RSR wheels for about £5,200 and you will have practically the same car, or at least a car with the same level of performance – and still have £40,000 left-over.
With that you could decide to either spend about £10,000 of it for all the extra kit the RS50 EVO gets listed below or, I don't know, buy an R35 GTR, Cayman GTS, Sierra RS Cosworth or another Focus RS Red Edition.
