THE SPANISH GRAND PRIX SUMMED UP IN 13 TWEETS!
Not as bonkers as Baku but it had it's moments...
To be fair, it was going to be a tall order for the Spanish Grand Prix to live up to the thriller we had in Azerbaijan but at least Romain Grosjean tried his best to liven things up.
Losing control seconds after the start, the Haas driver, seemingly always looking for a new way to throw away points, floored the throttle in an attempt to get facing in the right direction.
Now this works well on an empty bit of track but not on one with around a dozen other drivers bearing down on you. A bit like attempting a three-point-turn on the M25 in rush hour.
Cue carnage, as he took himself, Nico Hulkenberg and Pierre Gasly out on the spot.
Normal service for Spain (as in a bit of dullness) resumed on lap six and sixty laps later, 14 drivers finished, with Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas taking an easy 1-2 and Max Verstappen, coming in third, despite another unforced error as he nerfed into Lance Stroll under the Virtual Safety Car.
So, that was what happened on track, what went down on Twitter? We asked our man @GrandPrixDiary to keep an eye on things for us there...
Before the start Fernando had a visitor. Aww bless!
On the grid, Martin Brundle had a bit of a job to get Carlos' attention.
Romain reverts to his first lap nutcase role..
Now sit there and think about what you have done.
The restart and Daniel Ricciardo is closing in fast on Max Verstappen...
Kimi is out, where is that crying kid?
And us out in TV land too...
And this is why we needed some of the wet stuff!
Sometimes, the best part to replace is the part behind the wheel...
So much for those wonder upgrades at McLaren
Not really Jolyon, it actually made him faster and got a podium...
Not a classic but hey, Monaco is next!
Another win Vettel should probably have had...
And how they finished...
Easy-peasy for Mercedes...
