  • In my experience, Consumer reports isn't worth the paper it's printed on. That's not to say some of the cars in the list aren't crap. I'm just saying Consumer Reports aren't nearly as on the mark as they would have you believe, having purchased the Consumer reports recommended items for many years we found more than half of the things we bought by their recommendation were crap, or lemons, or worse. Wasted a lot of time and money following their recommendations.

    • But that is the thing right?, you got the lemon within model range, its an average yes? So Toyota may be the best reliable car, does not mean some are crap and the one you get could break. Personally, every car I have bought based on consumers has...

    • Ford's 1.0 Ecoboost is notorious for clutch failure and turbo issues. I suspect it means that. The Fiesta being the most popular Ford is the reason why it was chosen

  • Do you know you're getting older when Production Editors don't look old enough to drive cars?

  • Some of these with the transmission issues offer a manual (Camaro, Focus, Fiesta, 500). Just go with that and you won't have to deal with the reliability headache of an auto, especially once you get out of the warranty.

  • As expected, most of them are junk American cars using technologies of 70-80 and still can't make it work reliable. Tesla at least is something new and is likely disappear from this list soon.
