The Top 50 of my All Time Favourite Cars

New year, New beginning, New damn list.

    47w ago

    9.9K

*DISCLAIMER* These are my favourite cars not the greatest cars of the car world.

My mind has been torturing me for another week now, saying, ''You haven't done the list right, do it again... You clot!'' So, welcome back everyone, let's try this again...

    50. Mazda RX-7 Spirit R Type A

    The RX7 Spirit R.

    The RX7 Spirit R.

Starting off the list with the RX7 Spirit R. The rotary engine is completely unneeded but it is a brilliant design of an engine inside a brilliant design of a car.

    49. Porsche 928 GTS

    The 928 GTS.

    The 928 GTS.

The brilliant, underrated Porsche 928 GTS. The car was made for nearly 20 years from 1978-1995. The S4 928 GTS was the finale of the saga. Made in the last few years of 928 production, it features a thumping Muscle car style 5.4 litre V8 with GT comfort and almost supercar speed with revolutionary rear-wheel steering. Timeless.

    48. Nissan Skyline GTR (R34) V-Spec II

    The R34 GTR

    The R34 GTR

'Godzilla'. The skyline GTR. This is the ultimate one. The R34 V-spec II from 2002. Brilliant AWD and supercar acceleration. No wonder this was the base to the ultimate tuner car: the Mine's BNR34.

    47. Ferrari LaFerrari

    The Ferrari The Ferrari.

    The Ferrari The Ferrari.

Silly name. Brilliant car. My least favourite car of the holy trinity but still awesome. Terrifying 950bhp and face-shattering cornering. Perfect.

    46. Vauxhall Lotus Carlton

    The Lotus Carlton.

    The Lotus Carlton.

A mundane Vauxhall + Lotus modifications. Here's the best saloon car to ever exist. Is it fast? Yes. 177mph enough? Can it corner? Yes. It's half Lotus. Is it any good? It's on the list, isn't it?

    45. Honda NSX Type-R '92

    The NSXR.

    The NSXR.

The first Japanese supercar. With... Pop-pop up and down headlights! Approved by the ultimate F1 driver Ayrton Senna. Screw the Supra, this is the best Japanese car of the 90's. The Supra's overrated. Fight me.

    44. Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat '15

    The Hellcat.

    The Hellcat.

The greatest muscle car. The greatest land-yacht. 707 monstrous brake horses teamed with a humungous supercharged engine made by the psychopaths at SRT.

    43. McLaren P1

    The P1

    The P1

The second best car in the holy trinity. Not the greatest car of the decade but still one of the best cars this decade and ever. I'm not bothered about the electric stuff: it's just added power. Better than the Ferrari 'TheFerrari' but nowhere near better than the other one.

    42. Saleen S7 Twin Turbo

    The S7 Twin Turbo

    The S7 Twin Turbo

The Saleen S7 is an awesome car with a massive 7 litre V8. Fit two turbos to that and you get 750bhp and a clamed top speed of 248mph. Like the RXC, there's a higher powered one with 1000bhp and a new one with 1300 alleged horsepowers and a claimed speed of 298mph. Coming soon hopefully.

    41. Ultima 1020 Evolution

    The Ultima Evolution

    The Ultima Evolution

The actual first car to have 1hp per kilogram (2016-1020hp and 950kg) The Koenigegg One:1 has 1345hp and 1360kg so that has 1ps per kg. This car demands focus or it will kill you. I love it.

    40. Caterham Seven 620R

    The 620R.

    The 620R.

The 2nd best track car. Derived from the already amazing Superlight R500 with 60 extra horsepower. I'll finish there.

    39. Ford GT '17

    The 2017 GT.

    The 2017 GT.

The 2017 Ford GT was (technically is) an amazing supercar with beautiful looks and an awesome ride. Look at it...

    38. Porsche 911 (991) GT2 RS

    This 911 GT2 RS

    This 911 GT2 RS

This exact 911 is number 38. The latest GT2 RS in the special brand name that is the ultimate version of the ultimate version of the ultimate version. Everything about it is breath-taking. And look at the livery: it's gorgeous.

    37. Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG

    The SLS AMG

    The SLS AMG

This car is such a laugh. You don't go fast, really, in this. You go sideways very slowly. There are other mad AMG's like the SL65 AMG but this thing takes 37 for it's extravagant doors, mind-bending torque and gorgeous engine note. A bit of a show-off. Isn't it?

    36. Ferrari F50

    The F50.

    The F50.

Nowhere near as good as the F40, but still an incredible car. A bit 'disappointing' performance wise but as a car, wow.

    35. McLaren 720S

    The 720S.

    The 720S.

Really nice car. Beautiful looking and brilliantly fast. Best car of 2017, definitely.

    34. Porsche 918 Spyder

    The 918 Spyder

    The 918 Spyder

The best car of the 'holy trinity.'

    33. TVR Sagaris

    The Sagaris.

    The Sagaris.

Designed by an axe murderer, named after a Viking weapon. TVR: the most terrifying company ever. No traction control, no ABS, no stability control, no nothing really.

    32. RUF CTR2

    The CTR2

    The CTR2

The greatest tuning company, their greatest nameplate: the CTR. The CTR2 is an AWD, 520BHP, 228mph supercar made in 1995. What's not to love?

    31. Hennessey Venom GT Spyder

    The Venom GT

    The Venom GT

The 'possible' car that could beat the Veyron SS before the Agera RS did. Based on an extended Lotus Exige chassis and fit with a 1200bhp engine. I think it could do it.

    30. Ariel Nomad

    The Nomad.

    The Nomad.

This is the best off-roader to exist. Super cool to drive, on and off road. This is a true swiss army car. Careful after mud-driving. You wouldn't want the seats dirty.

    29. Citroen DS3 Racing

    The DS3 Racing.

    The DS3 Racing.

The only Front Wheel Drive car here and arguably the most biased (I own it.) I love this thing. There are many hot hatches like this but there isn't anything better. This car is closer to the original Mini Cooper S than the new Mini is. Perfection.

    28. Ford GT '05

    The 2005 GT.

    The 2005 GT.

Ohhhh, yes. This car is incredible. Lazy revving supercharged V8 teamed with a British chassis and fuel economy so bad that the annoying Greta Thundberg would weep. I adore it more than the original and the 2017 GT.

    27. TVR Cerbera Speed 12

    The Cerbera 12.

    The Cerbera 12.

Now, yes. This car technically was never made but I have found 2 registered in England. This one and a red one with GT1 parts. The best TVR. 7.7 litres of V12 and a claimed 240mph top speed. I wish it was production.

    26. Koenigsegg Agera R

    The Agera R.

    The Agera R.

The Agera R is the best Agera model ever. The most wanted car in NFS: Most Wanted and another possible Veyron SS beater.

    25. Mercedes-Mclaren SLR 722 Edition

    The SLR 722.

    The SLR 722.

The culmination of the best (one of) supercar brands teaming up with one of the best German brands (we'll ignore Mercedes's reliability issues.) You get the SLR. One of the best supercars of the 2000's. Make that even more powerful and even nicer to look at. You get the 722. This car is amazing. 'Nuff said.

    24. Ariel Atom V8 500

    The Atom V8.

    The Atom V8.

The Atom V8 is an engineering masterpiece. How all track cars should feel. It is terrifyingly fast. It probably isn't anything to go by but I managed a 1:12.6 on the Top Gear Test Track on Forza 7. Faster than any other car that has lapped the track in real life.

    23. Lamborghini Miura P400 SV

    The Miura SV.

    The Miura SV.

Do I have to explain the Miura? No, not really. But, this is the Miura SV: the finale of the 2nd best Lamborghini model. Everything (mostly) wrong with the original and S was sorted. Especially it's tendency to flip at high speed and the fact that it could explode in a high speed crash.

    22. AC Shelby Cobra 427 S/C

    The Cobra 427.

    The Cobra 427.

The fastest Cobra. Forget the Mustang, Challenger, Charger, Cougar, Barracuda, Corvette and whatever else. This is the best 60's American car. Fit with 60's safety, handling and brakes. The S/C bit means Semi-Competition.

    21. Ferrari 250 GTO

    The 250 GTO.

    The 250 GTO.

This is the third best Ferrari ever and most expensive car ever. For good reason. This is beautiful, fast and has that beautiful, creamy 2.5 litre V12.

    20. Noble M600

    The M600.

    The M600.

The M600? Noble? 20th? Yes. The Noble M600 is brilliant. It has perfect slipperiness for fun drifting at the limit. It's twin-turbocharged Volvo XC90 V8 is good for 225+mph. Proper hypercar.

    19. Dodge Viper SRT GTS '13

    The Viper GTS.

    The Viper GTS.

The Ultimate Viper. The best American car to be made. Probably ever now. Yes, the ACR is better but objectively this is. Higher top speed helps. Just like the M600, this is a perfect drifter too.

    18. Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2 Valentino Balboni

    The Gallardo Balboni

    The Gallardo Balboni

The third best Lamborghini model. Built to commemorate the Ex-Lamborghini test driver Valentino Balboni. The actual Gallardo isn't as good as the Miura but thus exact one is. RWD and 100kg lighter weight makes this brilliant to drive. Perfect send off to Valentino.

    17. BMW 1-Series M Coupe

    The 1M.

    The 1M.

Ok mate. The 1M. Are you OK? Yes, massively. This is the best BMW ever. No argument. Yes, in my poll made a while ago it lost to the M5 E60 but this 1M is much more interesting to drive and extremely fast. And the 1M doesn't deal with crippling repair bills like the M5 does because the 1M has a twin turbocharged Z4 engine.

    16. Ferrari 458 Italia

    The 458.

    The 458.

The 2nd best Ferrari. Very 'sciency' and 'physicsy' is the 458 but it brings out the perfect package. Last N/A V8 Ferrari. The 488 is pretty boring, to be honest. And I mean the looks are mouth-watering.

    15. Bugatti EB16.4 Veyron Super Sport

    The Veyron SS.

    The Veyron SS.

The original Veyron and Chiron are cars I'm critical of. They are built for rich old people who are having an apocalyptically massive midlife crisis. But the SS is the driver's Bugatti. Scary speed and very nice handling and still has the comfort of a Volkswagen.

    14. McLaren MP4-12C

    The 12C.

    The 12C.

The revival of the ultimate company pt3. The F1, SLR then this. Like the 458, the tech of this car is amazing. But the 12C is faster, better, stronger.

    13. Pagani Huayra BC

    The Huayra BC.

    The Huayra BC.

The best Italian car company with their 2nd best car: the Huayra BC. Air defying aerodynamics, a twin turbo 6 litre engine with nearly 800bhp. This gave Pagani the jump from super to hypercar.

    12. Koenigsegg CCXR Edition

    The CCXR.

    The CCXR.

The CCX was the best Koenigsegg ever. Then in 2008, they made it better. The CCXR. 1004hp, 2.9 second 0-60. Doesn't beat the Veyron SS but around a track and to drive the Koenigsegg batters it.

    11. Porsche 959

    The 959.

    The 959.

The ultimate Porsche 911 (kind of.) This is revolutionary. It is actually closer to the Veyron than the F1 is. AWD, Comfy driving, Somewhat easy driving and they lost money on every one of them made. Perfect. I've said that a lot now.

    10. Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SV

    The Murcielago SV

    The Murcielago SV

The best Lambo ever. So mad yet so nice to drive. The disease of the old Lambos. The Impossibility to drive them. 661bhp and looks to make you faint. Sheer pleasure.

    9. Ford RS200 Evolution

    The RS200 Evo.

    The RS200 Evo.

Supercar beating performance in a sports car package. The best rally car and with 500bhp, the closest you could get to the 700bhp rally cars. It held the world record for the fastest 0-60 for 12 years: 3 seconds. In 1986!

    8. Lexus LFA

    The LFA.

    The LFA.

The true car of the decade. No special techy bits, no new things. Just driving nirvana. Beautiful V10 engine, the coolest rev counter ever made and the special seal of approval for the best car Jeremy Clarkson said he'd ever driven also given to the Ferrari F355 Berlinetta.

    7. Porsche Carrera GT

    The CGT.

    The CGT.

The best Porsche ever. The LFA x5. I think that's about it.

    6. Pagani Zonda Cinque

    The Zonda C.

    The Zonda C.

The ultimate Zonda, the ultimate Pagani, the ultimate modern supercar, the ultimate car for the 21st century.

    5. Bugatti EB110 Super Sport

    The EB110 SS.

    The EB110 SS.

    The best Bugatti ever made.

    4. RUF CTR 'Yellowbird'

    The CTR.

    The CTR.

The best 911 ever. The end.

    3. Ferrari F40

    The F40.

    The F40.

    The best Ferrari ever made.

    2. Jaguar XJ220

    The XJ220.

    The XJ220.

    The best Jaguar ever made.

    1. McLaren F1

    The F1.

    The F1.

The best car to ever exist. Past, present and future. This is it: the McLaren F1.

I think this beautiful list will remain. I hope. Now, some polls...

Thank you for reading. I'm off to bed.

I won't make a new post of this so check for developments here.

    Goodbye.

    • WAY too many modern Hypercars. Where are cars like the original Mini, the Jaguar E-type or the Mazda MX-5? And I know everyone has it's own definition of "best" but I would still put a DeLorean on the list 😉

      • I’m not bothered with normal cars. I love old cars 80s-90s mostly but because so many modern cars have arrived there’s bound to be more brilliant cars than in the past

      • The original mini doesn’t interest me

I love the e type but as a car it isn’t very good

The Mazda mx5 is barely as sports car

      • Never would be. They peaked with the original Shelby GT500. Then end.

    • I’m reposting to my profile because I don’t have the mental capacity to even begin one so mad respect ... I’d start at #1 and work back to #50 ... by the time I got there, it would be June of 2020.
