The Toyota Supra just got more affordable
Before you get too excited about the forthcoming replacement for the Toyota GT86, you should probably know that the latest Supra is about to get a lot more affordable. Because Toyota has just confirmed details of the GR Supra with a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine.
A year after the 3.0-litre, straight-six Supra was launched, the new version has 258 horsepower and a 0-62mph time of 5.2 seconds. It also weighs a whopping 100kg less than the 3.0-litre car, which should have a considerable positive effect on handling. A smaller engine also means it can be placed closer to the centre of the car, for improved weight distribution and a 50:50 front to rear balance.
In Europe, you’ll be able to get your 2.0-litre Supra in Live spec with 18-inch wheels and black Alcantara upholstery, but options include a pimped up sound system and sat-nav. When it launches, there’ll be a fully-loaded, limited edition Fuji Speedway version, as pictured here, with 19-inch black alloy wheels, white metallic paint and red mirrors. Just 200 will be made for Europe, so you’ll have to be quick.
Damn, it's still too much for me
Well, there’s always a radio controlled Supra for less money still…
