Something has been baffling me of late. Why don't we hear the Lexus LFA mentioned in supercar conversations. I just can't comprehend it. Every now and again the LFA's name gets thrown into the argument of the best supercars, but it soon gets drowned out by the Ferrari and Lamborghini lovers.

I think there is a genuine case for the LFA being called the best supercar of the decade. If you remove the Lexus badge and place a Ferrari or Lamborghini badge on there, it would be hailed as an all-time great. No doubt.

The badge is the only factor I can see holding back its status in the supercar world. The engine is one of the best sounding engines ever. The V10 redlines at 9,000rpm and the banshee-like whine is haunting. Just have a listen to this:

Even Clarkson himself said: “If someone were to offer me the choice of any car that had ever been made ever, I would like a dark blue Lexus LFA.”

I think that says it all.
