Here is the 50th Anniversary Ford Mustang Cobra Jet. As you can probably work out, the first Cobra Jet was built back in 1968. The Cobra Jet is a drag strip focussed Mustang (as you know, going in a straight line is all they can do). This is strictly for track use so you will never see one on the road, it doesn't even have a VIN.

The Mustang Cobra Jet is powered by Ford's 5.2L V8 and a 3.0L whipple charger (as if the engine wasn't already powerful enough). The engine will then send the power down to a 9 inch solid rear axle. It also has adjustable coilovers and a low drag disc braking system. Ford haven't released many specs on the engine performance but we do know that it will reach 150 mph and will do a mid 8 second 1/4 mile time. You will be able to buy the Cobra Jet in 2 different colour variations, red or white and it will set you back $130,000 as a starting price. You can opt for some extras such as a roll-cage, bucket seats and racing wheels. Ford have limited the production to only 68 cars to pay tribute to the year they started the Mustang Cobra Jet back in 1968.

As you can see from the interior, Ford are not messing around. This is a fully drag strip focussed vehicle. I don't think you can put some Katy Perry on through the speakers in this Mustang.

So, would you buy one?
