The Zagato IsoRivolta Vision Gran Turismo is a 997bhp real-world supercar
Say hello to the latest and quite possibly the most insane supercar from coachbuilder Zagato. It’s equipped with a slightly humble engine in the form of a Corvette V8. This has been tuned with twin-turbochargers amongst other unspecified upgrades to produce a theoretical 997bhp in that insane ‘Jetson’s’ style body that weighs just 1,197kg.
All of this power and lightness combines to give this supercar a claimed 0-62mph time of 2.7 seconds, running onto a top speed of 227mph. This is quicker than all of the holy trinity hypercars which is some bragging rights.
For prospective buyers though, there is very small issue – it’s not quite a real car just yet. Currently, gamers can test drive the Zagato IsoRivolta Vision GT in the latest instalment of the racing franchise, Gran Turismo Sport.
According to Zagato’s vice-president of design Norihiko Harada. “The IsoRivolta Vision Gran Turismo was created to drive in the virtual reality world,” and that “Gran Turismo however, has enabled us to physically experience the digital realm.”
When questioned about that very futuristic looking styling, Harada stated: “The body style of the IsoRivolta Vision contradicts the sense of oneness that has evolved over the past hundred years of automotive design.”
No doubt it’s certainly a stunning piece of design, from the sectioned layout including hunkered front wings and mass of aero intakes all over the bodywork, it just shouts insanity from every angle, and it could be shouting from a road near you in the future.
Zagato wants to produce a very limited amount of real-world examples for wealthy buyers with Harada confirming “Our next wish is that this car, which was born in Gran Turismo, will take to the road in real life.” Hence, they have a potential shortlist of buyers.
