Earlier this year in July Chevrolet took the covers off their newest car, the mid-engined C8 corvette. It will be the first mid-engined corvette ever made, and has simply grended any prospective C7 Corvette buyers.

Because who in their right mind would go out and buy a brand-new C7 Corvette, while knowing full well that the new one is only a few months away. However, because of this there are quite a few stragglers left on dealer lots. And when I say a few, I mean roughly 5,000 unsold brand-new C7 Corvettes.

Now, this presents a wonderful opportunity, because while buying a C7 at full price is sheer lunacy, there may be a better way. Dealers are desperate to get the old C7 off of their lots. Simply because once the new car comes, the C7 will become unsellable.

However, because of that dealers are willing to discount these cars heavily. Many dealers are offering these cars for as much as $10,000-$15,000 below their list price. However, if you were planning on speccing out your dream C7, you can't. The last front-engined Corvette ever made, a C7 Z06 painted in black, was built on Friday, November 22nd. You'll just have to hope that there's one that fits your liking sitting on a Chevy lot somewhere.

  • This is no joke. I stopped at the dealer few days ago. The salesman was shooting me stupid low prices standing on the lot, brought the keys and and sent me on a solo drive (I did not ask) the guy did not even know my name. Unfortunately I was not enamored with the little two seater. I seem to have become partial to the big fast sedan platform.

  • Some dealers have been knocking around 10k of the Zo6 for a few years now.

What’s more ridiculous, buying a full price c7 or paying 20-25k over sticker for a new c8 just to have one of the first ones?
