There Are Still Two Brand New V60 T6 Polestars For Sale
Someone please buy these poor wagons before we do!
After shocking the world with it's useable performance platform, Volvo's V60 T6 Polestar looked like a sure winner in the hunt for fast wagon shoppers; however, two examples of Volvo's 2016 V60 T6 Polestar remain unsold.
The V60 Polestar holds a special place in the heart of every car enthusiast. Although Volvo doesn't make the fastest performance cars, their cars offer real world usability and personality. When the V60 Polestar came out, it introduced Volvo fans to a new breed of fast wagons developed by Volvos new in house tuning company.
The V60 Polestar T6 followed in the footsteps of cars like the legendary 850R and V70R. We like these car so much we bought ourselves a project V70R.
Polestar took Volvo's competent V60 wagon and transformed it into a giant slayer. In 2016 Polestar was still using Volvo transverse mounted inline-six-cylinder engine as their main power plant. This engine was a good starting point for Polestar to add power, even though it was a very strange engine configuration.
The inline-six was tuned by Polestar to produce an impressive 345 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. The power bump was courtesy of a new twin-scroll Borg Warner turbo, larger intercooler, full exhaust system, and of course an eco tune.
This power was backed up by the most important upgrade, Ohlins dampers. These suspension components are good enough for Koenigsegg's ridiculous hypercars so let's just say they work pretty well on a Volvo wagon.
In addition to more power and a superb Ohlins suspension system, Polestar added massive 14.6-inch six-piston Brembo calipers. These brakes help control the new found power and actually make this a trackable wagon if you're so inclined.
Other upgrades include a retuned transmission for faster shifting. Polestar also retuned the AWD system to send more power to the rear wheels which improves handling characteristics. So now that you want one of these mad wagons, below are the links to the last two new V70 T6 Polestars for sale in America. Although neither of them are the stunning Blue color that defines this trim, they're both excellent wagons.
