There's a 66 Mile Ford Maverick For Sale!

Only 66 miles!? What?!

1y ago

Somehow, someone somewhere has managed to accumulate only 66 miles on their 1974 Maverick over the past 45 years. According to the listing on BringATrailer.com, the car was purchased from the dealership, then parked until the current owner acquired it 10 years ago.

The car is finished in a very 70's color called "Medium Yellow Gold". The interior is striped cloth, in a shade that is slightly lighter than the exterior color.

The car rolls around on stock 14" rims, which really shows how much rim sizes have increased over the years. Let's go over some random features of the car: SelectAire air conditioner, AM radio, crank windows, a column shifter, and an I6 paired with a three speed automatic sending power to the rear wheels.

It's pretty incredible how this car only has 66 miles, and it will likely go for a pretty penny. The bid currently sits at $11,500, with about 19 hours left on the auction.

  • Should be in a museum. You could never drive it, if the mileage was this low

  • I mean it's cool, and while this one has collector quality, it's not really a collectors car...

I'd rather have one with 60k miles so I can actually drive and enjoy it...

  • This is so much more collectible than an LTD II-so much more style per square inch than the Fairmont or Granada. Although the Fairmont Futura might appeal to fans of Futurama. The number of people on earth who would shell out five figures for this is in the very low single digits. I’m still kicking myself for missing out on the tribute Mexican Shelby Maverick that was on the Hemmings site two years ago.

  • The four door Maverick was one of ugliest cars that we all made fun of in the 1970s. Nothing has changed, it doesn’t matter how many miles are on it. Ugly is ugly.
