Spring usually involves overeating chocolate and the resurrection of someone named Jesus, but this year you can also go knee-deep in some racing game action on Xbox.

The Xbox Live Spring Sale includes a large number of games and all of them are discounted for non Xbox Gold members, but those who are get up to a further 10 per cent off.

Quite a few non-racing games can be found on the cheap (you can see the full list on the Xbox website if you like), but we will focus on those that are because that's how we roll. Get it? Nevermind.

Assetto Corsa is £16.79, a saving of £7.20, or £14.39 with Gold. The Crew Ultimate Edition is £20 or £16 with Gold, making it less than half price. The Forza Motorsport 6 and Forza Horizon 2 bundle, meanwhile, is £37.50 or £30 with Gold membership.

The more recent Forza Motorsport 7 Standard Edition is £29.99, while the Deluxe Edition is £38.99 and the Ultimate Edition a still princely sum of £47.99. Forza Horizon 3 avoids getting a discount, sadly.

Then there is Moto Racer 4, at £6.40 or £4.80 with Gold, and Need for Speed Payback at £30, £40 and £53.99 for the Standard, Deluxe and Ultimate Edition versions, respectively (£24, £32 and £45 with Gold).

As for the Project Cars series, the first game is £7.92 (£6 with Gold) and £13.20 (£10) for the more content-heavy Game of the Year edition. Project Cars 2 comes in at £29.99 (£25) if you go standard and £52.49 (£44.99) for some deluxe action.

For an all-terrain vibe, Spintires: MudRunner is £24.49 (£20.99). If there are multiple games you want to buy, you may want to subscribe to Xbox Live Gold as you can get three months for £6 at the time of writing, saving yourself £8.99.

The deal runs from the 4th to the 11th of April, 2018, so you have a few days to decide what games are worth going for. American gamers can also get a discount.
