These Le Mans Hypercar renders give us an exciting glimpse into the future
This seriously talented designer gives a glimpse into the future
From 2020, the World Endurance Championship – which includes the famous Le Mans race – will drop the legendary LMP1 class and replace it with a new hypercar class. The move is intended help to cut costs leading to more competitors joining the sport, and helping to make the cars look more like, erm, cars.
Don't get me wrong, LMP cars are awesome but their looks might be a little odd and certainly don't look like anything you can see on the road. The new class would see hypercars like the McLaren Speed tail or Aston Martin Valkyrie potentially eligible for the class.
Graphic designer Sean Bull Design created a few renders giving us a glimpse into how the cars might potentially look.
Harrods Livery McLaren Speedtail LMP-GT1
My favourite by far is the newly revealed McLaren Speedtail in the Harrods Racing livery that originally appeared on the McLaren F1 GTR that scored 3rd place in the 1995 24 Hours of Le Mans.
He also had a go at imagining a Mazda, Bugatti and McLaren Senna as well as many others. To see more, you should check out his Twitter.
Personally I love his take on the legendary 787B livery in the more modern colour scheme. The Senna isn't too bad either.
Next up we have a Aston Martin Valkyrie, Ferrari LaFerrari, what looks to be a BMW 8 series and a Ford GT, each as beautiful as the other.
For me the best by far is the Jaguar wearing livery inspired by the 1989 Le Mans winning XJR-9, although I might be biased given my current job, but oh well..
