These renders show what the Supra would look like if Toyota had partnered with someone other than BMW
With reviews of the much-awaited Toyota Supra now smothered all over the internet, one of the key parts of every one of those articles has been the fact that it is based on the BMW Z4.
Some people have said that's a good thing, with the Z4 being a cracking platform to work from, but others have claimed that the Supra simply isn't Toyota enough and is a let down compared to its A80 predecessor.
Well thanks to the talented guys at Budget Direct, you can now see what the Supra would look like if Toyota had partnered with other companies instead of BMW. Let's start with...
Supra by Aston Martin
The Aston Martin Vantage is an aggressive looking beast which would have toughened up the look of the Supra via a platform sharing exercise.
Supra by Chevrolet
There's no way you'd mistake that hood scoop and bonnet line for anything other than a Corvette. Would this Chevy Supra have a V8?!
Supra by Ferrari
Now THAT is a front end. The Supra already has whiffs of 812 about its rear haunch, so this match-up definitely works.
Supra by Mercedes
You have to look a bit closer on this one, but you can see the AMG GT's rear fender as a guide to where this Frankenstein car comes from.
Supra by Nissan
Nissan and Toyota working together on a sportscar? Probably not...
Supra by Peugeot
A Supra hot hatch would be seriously alternative, but why not?
Supra by Tesla
The next time we see a new generation of Supra, it'll almost certainly be electric. So why not build a partnership with Tesla now?
Supra by Volvo
Straightening some of the lines to add a pinch of Volvo has made this Supra look more like its potentially more enjoyable cousin, the GT86.
So now that you've seen what is possible with a bit of computer trickery, who do you wish Toyota had partnered up with for the Supra? Would you still pick BMW? Or does one of the hypothetical renders take your fancy? Cast your vote in the poll below!
