The Dodge Viper was never known as a track car. Thought you may remember the Viper ACR as a track focused variant, the original Viper was a sports car that wasn't as sharp as its European counterparts. Where it made up that gap was with its stonking American V10 engine up front.
Over the years people have tuned them, turboed them, supercharged them, and more in search of max power and speed. And the Viper V10 doesn't get nearly the amount of recognition it deserves in that respect. People know about it, but the engine is about as stout as they come. A V10 LS, if you will.
The Viper I'm about to show you has been tuned to a scarcely believable 1400 WHEEL horsepower. Doing the never accurate "drive train losses" mathematics, it's probable that this thing is pushing 1600ish crank hp out there.
And according to the video, the hp isn't the only thing that's impressive about this car.
Yep. That's right. In hitting 252 mph, this Viper has become the fastest one ever recorded. What an absolute monster.
Have you seen a faster Viper? I want to know about it.
