Amalgam is famous for making one of the most expensive and beautiful model cars on the planet. The British firm has done it yet again with this - the 1:8 Scale Ford GT40 Model.

This lovely model is based on chassis 1075 and is a 1:8 replica of the 1969 24 Hours of Le Mans winner. It measures 50cm in length and every model is handbuilt. Amalgam says every model 400 hours to build.

Each model is made using thousands of individual parts that are made using castings, photo-etchings and even CNC machining. In order to bless the model with the iconic Gulf livery, Ford Archive and Heritage department and Gulf Oil International helped Amalgam in making this model.

Open the bonnet and you will find a spare wheel. What's more, the model has a meticulously detailed interior which will get you drooling.

Only 199 models will be made with each one costing $13,006. Ouch.

  • And also should check the 1:8 McLaren F1 Ueno Clinic Le Mans winner. They're even puting the dirt from the race on it. Now that's a level of meticulous detailing. 😁
