This 2005 Ford GT up for sale right now is the most depressing thing we've ever seen
Yes, this really was a Ford GT once upon a time.
With the value of the 2005 Ford GT having shot up in recent years after the launch of the newer GT in 2017, you might be tempted by the cheaper way of getting a supercar such as this for yourself that many a YouTuber has made a career for themselves out of – buying a wrecked example from a Copart auction and fixing it up yourself.
However, in the case of this 2005 Ford GT, I doubt you or any other prospective buyer will have any chance of ever fixing it up as, well, there's not exactly much of a car left here.
Located at Copart in Billings, Montana, this lot is set to cross the auction block on an unspecified upcoming date, although if it ends up going unsold, I can't say I'll personally be too surprised given the sheer state of it.
Fire damage is noted on the auction listing as the primary source of damage, although just by looking at the state of the car, that barely needs to be explained as every single component of it has been burned to a crisp – so much so that it's not clear whether any of it would be salvageable, with the entire body effectively gone, the frame looking to be completely ruined, and its 5.4-litre supercharged V8 engine likely suffering from some serious damage as well, although it does at least appear to be there.

Just 4038 examples of the Ford GT were produced between 2004-2006, so it's incredibly depressing to see just how bad a state this one is in, and it's even more depressing to imagine just how it got into this sort of a state.
Keeping in mind that this thing looks to be barely salvageable, if recoverable at all, let us know...
