Aptera Motors, based in California, believe their first car is a solution to the range and charge issues that plague the EV car. Their three-wheeler features a designed focused on aerodynamics and reducing drag, combined with fewer yet lighter and stronger components, in addition to almost every surface being covered with solar panels, contribute towards a supposed range of 1000+ miles.

The goal is that the car can charge on-the-go, of course massive part in hitting 1000 miles of range is the development of electricity through the solar panels. It must be added, therefore, that a somewhat sunny climate is needed to extend one charge that far. Since it's being developed in California - it would be easy to test it any day of the year.

Also this car is exceptionally lightweight, with the production car expected to have only 10 key structural parts as compared to 300 of other EVs. The car does look like a spaceship, adding to that are the angel wing doors with two seats along with a simple interior. If you are thinking it will lack in sportiness, Aperta claim it will do 0-60 in less than 4 seconds, which is almost slightly disappointing for a super-light EV.

The car is set for production in 2022 and with a starting price of US$36,000, going up to a potential US$59,000.

To be honest, even if they do not hit the 1000 mile range mark, but can get half way there, this wills till trump the current crop of EVs which offer between 300-400 miles, this might just go the distance.
