This amazing 1933 Cadillac 1:12 LEGO model deserves our attention
We all built a car with Lego bricks at some point. I remember using about a dozen bricks to build something that vaguely resembled a car and feeling proud of it but I guess our efforts have been absolutely trumped by this 1933 Cadillac Series 355.
The 355C was unveiled in 1933 to replace the 1932 355B and this scale model manages to capture the essence of the big Caddy with great attention to detail. The model features a long hood, big front grille, round headlights and even the chrome bumper. Everything from the shape of the side steps to the rear end of the car is beautifully reproduced and the car even comes with an operable trunk and doors, as well as a removable roof.
The actual 355 is around 5.1 mt (16.83 ft) in length and this is technically a 1:12 model, measuring around 0.45 mt. With a few exceptions, LEGO usually sells 1:18 models or smaller but I'd personally keep the scale to 1:12 but that's just my opinion, let me know what you think in the comments.
This Lego Cadillac is currently listed on Lego Ideas, a website anyone can use to submit ideas for Lego products that, if selected, will be commercially available. At the time of writing, the Cadillac has 2,128 with 499 days to go. The author cleverly set a deadline two years from now, because Cadillac is going to celebrate its 120th anniversary in 2022 and that would be the perfect occasion to launch a special edition Lego set.
