Which one of these engineering legends takes the win for you? It's hard to look past the Porsche flat-six for me.

  • Nissan's RB26 engine is technically inferior in almost every way in comparison to Toyota's 2JZ-GTE, so really, the Toyota should be featured here instead.

The 2JZ was extremely well designed, is incredibly robust, inexpensive to maintain in comparison to so many other high performance but high maintenance engines, and, of course, has huge potential for tuning. Considering that some tuners are still putting this 30 year old engine into modern cars, it demands high regard.

    • I have similar thoughts and was quite surprised that the 2JZ was left out

    • Yes, but the sound of an RB is just magical. no offence to the 2JZ-GTE, but I would take the RB any day of the week.

  • That's a cute animation. Yes, there's probably 2 engines in that little animation that I'll take. Unfortunately it left out 1 of the best engines to ever be produced. Its just unfortunate it wasn't included in a road vehicle... :-)

    • while the V8 of the modern 458 was included.. I still think this V12 is more significant...
