During the 1960's, Aston Martin was making some of the coolest and most memorable cars of all time. The DB4 is one of those 60's icons, setting the benchmark for sports cars of the era. It set a record 151 mph top speed, and had a design bar none. In total, 1,204 DB4s were made, with 75 being in the GT specification. Better yet, one of these DB4 GTs is heading to auction.

The DB4 GT shown here is chassis DB4GT/0154/L, and is one of 29 surviving LHD models. 0154/L uses a 302 hp inline-6 mated to a 4 speed manual, and is painted in the stunning Goodwood Green with Connolly leather upholstery. Altogether, this is one of the best looking DB4s made. To top it all off, it has a rich racing history.

This DB4 GT was delivered first to Geroges Filipinetti, who was apart of one of Europe's best private racing teams, Scuderia Filipinetti, and was driven by future Swiss Formula 1 drivers. The DB4 was then owned by Dr Gwer E Reichen, who gave it shorter gears and a Bosch brake servo to help it perform better when racing. This DB4 was entered in many hill climbs and various other races, racking up 62,000 miles. More recently, it was imported to the US where it was apart of a collection of post-war classics.

    • My favorite car from AM, too, bar the DB4 GT Zagato, but those fetch McLaren F1 money these days. Beautiful!
