This car shows why V6s are awesome

The Ginetta G55 GT4 is an absolute weapon

Everyone seemed to hate the V6 Mustang, but Ginetta has taken that 3.7-litre Ford V6 and worked some serious magic with it in the G55 GT4 racing car.

I had the privilege of taking to the Grand Prix circuit at Silverstone to see what's what.

  • The V6 from the Nissan GT-R is also another reason why people prefer V6 to V8 since V6 can able to cut down the price of the car while can maintain excellent performance.

  • The Mustang 3.7 Litre V6 did not "perform so badly", as the guy says.

    it was alright.

But given half a chance 99.9% of drivers wanted a V8 for many reasons; power, torque, mystique, and probably the biggest reason, the sound. Very few cars sound as nice as a V8 Mustang, even with a stock exhaust system. Add a aftermarket system, and you are in a different Universe.

Go to a speed shop in the States or Canada, and you can buy all the bits-and-pieces for the V6 version that will propel you faster than many, many other sports cars or even exotics. However, it will still be a V6.

I'm not an engine engineer, but my understanding is that, inherently, a V6 is more difficult to balance to a fine point, as compared to straight 6 or a V8.

    • The only thing wrong with any V6 Mustang (or Camaro for that matter) was the existence of the V8 car. I have found over the years, that the people who talked the most trash about the V6's never owned and would never own either version anyway,...
