Have you ever wondered what the perfect beach car is? Some may think it's a pickup, others may think it's a beach buggy, but they are all wrong.

This is the one you want. This is a Land Rover Defender which has been through East Coast Defender in America and it is dubbed Project CL. The exterior is finished in a stunning dark blue along with black accents and satin black 18-inch Kahn wheels.

On the inside, there have been a few changes too. The seats have been reupholstered in beige leather, with diamond quilting. It has also been given a 2+4 seating layout, meaning two full-sized seats at the front and another four inward-facing jump seats at the back, which are perfect for a group beach trip.

Powering this British/American beach buggy is a massive 6.2-liter V8. The LS3 is mated to an automatic transmission and of course a four-wheel drive system. It has also been given Brembo brakes and custom air ride suspension.

But, all of this doesn't come in cheap at all. These projects usually go for between $100,000 and $200,000 which means you may have second thoughts about using this as a beach car but if you're rich, then it's perfect for the job.

Would you use this as your beach surfers car?

  • They got it right! LS swap everything. They work.

  • I think it’s too much power for an antiquated vehicle. Conceptually brilliant, the reality is not so much.
