This designer's take on a Honda S2000 Type R might leave you dribbling
This is simply amazing!
The Honda S2000 came out back in the 90s and was and still is one of the most exciting cars to ever come from the Japanese car manufacturer. Yet to this day, Honda hasn't brought it back, but here is what it could look like if they did.
Designer Somak Biswas has had a stab at creating what he thinks a new S2000 Type R could look like and we are all for it. This bright orange render looks like a mixture between the new Toyota Supra and Honda E and we aren't complaining.
This is fitting as according to Biswas' brief, this concept was built to compete with the BMW Z4 and Porsche 718 Boxster. It would be powered by a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder engine which produces 306hp to the back wheels and 295 lb-ft of torque.
Biswas said he gave it "a long hood, clean lines, and road-hugging stance as they are key ingredients for a perfect sports car design, and this one tops it off by taking inspiration from the original S2000." Biswas also took inspiration from the 2022 Honda Civic which you can notice at both the front and rear.
But it isn't just the outside Biswas has designed, he has gone so far as to design the interior too which features a "moon bar" which includes a sound bar, ambient lighting, air vents, and an adjustable infotainment screen which "can be adjusted to face the driver for better visibility and reach while driving," - what a great idea!
The centre console has been inspired by the structure of Japanese Pagodas which we think is a nice touch. All in all, it's a very sleek and modern take on the iconic S2000 and we would be more than happy to see Honda make something like this, especially in Type R format. Nice work, Somak Biswas.
