This Go-Kart is an excellent low budget alternative to an Ariel Atom... sort of
I can't decide whether this is brilliant or blasphemy
This vehicle looks remarkably like an Ariel Atom – but it's actually a go-kart. It's called the Arrow 200 and it's made by Tao Tao, a US-based company specializing in go-karts, dirt bikes, ATVs and scooters.
It's powered by a 169cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine, coupled with an automatic transmission, and big wheels. The go-kart sits on 21-inch tyres at the front and 22-inch tyres at the back, with coil-over suspension and hydraulic disc brakes.
TaoTao doesn't actually say how much power it makes but they do say it produces 10.2 Nm of torque (around 7.5 lb-ft). It doesn't sound like much but the go-kart only has a net weight of 265 Kg.
Inside you'll find buckets seats with 4-point harness and it is available in yellow, red, blue or black. At $2,319.99 plus free shipping, it's not that expensive either. I mean it's not cheap cheap, but you do get a lot for your money in terms of fun.
I'm sure it drives better than most crossover SUVs out there. There are cheaper karts out there, there's one on sale that allows you to convert your hoverboard into a go-kart. But it certainly looks a lot better and more interesting than most karts out there, doesn't it?
