This gorgeous Rimac Concept_One could be all yours for $1.6m

One of seven in existence

The Rimac Concept_One was first introduced in 2013 and it was considered a bit of a game changer when it first came out. Rimac only built 8 units in total*, only 7 of which are still in existence after Hammond's crash while filming the Grand Tour in Switzerland, and this is the only one currently available for sale.

Rimac developed the Concept_One around their own proprietary battery technology and it is powered by a four synchronous electric motors, with a 90 kWh battery pack, for a combined power output of 1,224 hp and a whopping 1,180 lb-ft of torque. The top speed is electronically limited to 211 mph and 0-60 is dealt with in just 2.5 seconds. The 217-mile range it guarantees is not exactly phenomenal, but then again this wasn't designed to be a long-distance cruiser so 200+ miles is more than adequate.

In 2017, Rimac Automobili partnered up with three dealership groups in three key regions - Europe, North America and the Middle East - and the vehicle you see here, a 2019 example painted in Riviera Blue with Cognac Gold interior, is available (listed as 'new') from Manhattan Motorcars in New York with a $1.6m price tag.

Rimac is gaining a lot of traction and becoming more and more involved with VW Group. They helped Porsche develop the Taycan and now they're in talks with Volkswagen for the acquisition of Bugatti.

My two cents? Yes, 1.6 million dollars is a lot of cash but if you can afford it, this is no-brainer.

*Rimac built eight Concept_One models and two Concept S models, a lighter and more powerful track-focused version of Concept One

  • Stunning ... but completely out of reach for all but the most insanely rich. We should start an “Affordable Cool Cars” tribe for us “common men.” ... lol
