This guy drove an old Peugeot 306 from Denmark to China

It's amazing how far a $1,000 car can get you!

Before the world as we know it today, people were free to travel around the world as they pleased. If you wanted to, you could wake up on Friday morning, book a flight and be in Thailand the next day if you wanted to.

It's amazing to think how the world has changed in the last year, and this short film shows just how good life was before 2020.

This guy and a group of friends decided they wanted to go on holiday to China to see what it was like. Instead of flying, they thought driving would be a better opton because not only can you be more flexible, but you can also go wherever you want.

So with that in mind, they put $1,200 together and bought an old Peugeot 306 where they lived in Denmark and this would be the car they'd take on their 7,000km trip.

I won't say anymore as if you want to find out more, then you should really watch the video. It looks like an amazong journey and one which I am sure The Grand Tour bunch would applaud.

What car would you do this trip in?

In Thailand yes, I can, but about UK or USA or even in Canada I have to do a lot of paper work to proof that I don't have illegal intentions to emigrate.

  • Ahh, the joy of bangernomics! My current steed cost £350, lasted 5months until this MoT and is costing me about £400 to get through the next. This is what I can 'expensive'. My last car, a 2-stroke Trabant, cost next to bugger all to run all year, year after year. I've only passed it on because it's not very environmentally friendly as an everyday driver. A film company now has it for a forthcoming film about... well it's a Trabant's natural habitat is all I can tell you. I'm still trying to find a way I can afford to join the EV revolution on bangernomics money, but it's 'a bit of a challenge'.
