This guy put a $14,000 exhaust onto his V10 BMW M5, and it sounds nuts!!

Ever wanted your family car to sound like an F1 car?

The 5.0 litre V10 found in the M5 and M6s' of the early 2000's is a truly legendary engine.

However, despite having the same number of cylinders as a Lamborghini it didn't really sound all that good, I mean it was okay, but it had to be quiet and luxurious. However, the aftermarket has spoken, and some people are now more than happy to toss some loud exhausts onto their V10-powered super saloons.

However, one owner has decided that he wants to go all out and get a $14,000 exhaust for his M5. Bear in mind that a mint M5 of that generation costs around $15,000, so this guy was clearly willing to spend some money. Interestingly, the exhaust was fabricated by the same shop which made the now infamous Mercedes-Benz S600 V12 exhaust back in september.

Unsuprisingly, however, the car sounds great. With an excellent rang of noises, ranging from a nice rumble at low revs, and a truly F1 like high pitched wail when you get high up into the revs range.

    • Yeah, but they’re so damn unreliable and expensive to fix. It’s a shame
