This insane C3 Corvette monster truck is as awesome as it is weird
Does anyone else suddenly want it?
Putting the words 'C3 Corvette' and 'Monster Truck' in the same sentence is definitely a career first for me, but that's exactly what we have here.
Swapping out a Chevrolet V8 for a Ford V8 is akin to treason for many Chevrolet fans, but that's exactly what the owner of this crazy creation has done. However, it's not exactly like the owner of this C3 is a purist.
This 1976 C3 Corvette is now powered by a Ford V8, but that's not the most dramatic thing about this creation. Gone is the standard Corvette chassis, replaced by an insane, custom-built Monster Truck chassis.
The Ford V8 is mated to a C6 Corvette transmission, which is connected to the gigantic offroad wheels and 2.5-ton axles by a 12" drop transfer case. The coilovers on each corner of the truck are the same size as a small child, so it's safe to say the truck has the height to traverse water safely, but the seller does not the interior is not waterproof, and it "needs some work."
Unsurprisingly, this whacky creation is nowhere near street-legal, but the custom work that went into building it would be wasted on the road. If you're in the market for a one-off monster truck, this one is available on Facebook for $9000 OBO - get the cheque books out, and unleash your inner off-roader!
