This is good. I can't make things this good.

Some thought him too harsh. Some thought him too foul. I thought he was damn near perfect. This is not a long, or even a real post, just a quick sample of one of my favorite quotes, from one of my favorite authors.

This is from: To America With Love.

In Europe, motorways are autobahns, but in America they’re the freeway, an American name that has an intrinsic beauty, a perfect piece of copywriting, a two-syllable slogan, a poem to the New World. The road that bore humming freedom, that gave you freedom. The Freeway should be America’s motto.

  • How do Americans manage to make everything patriotic? Our motorways are a source of irritation twice a day if you have to use them at those times and method of getting about that’s infinitely better than getting the train, otherwise!

  • Isn't everything related to freedom in the USA? 🤣

  • That's actually quite beautiful. I love this idea Ryan, hope to see more of your favourite quotes!

  • Since cars are ultimate expressions of individual freedom, its only fitting that motorways are named freeways

  • I like it, I like it a lot. I've been considering what to write for my captions to express something on a different level. Migz has his Haiku's which are very cool and inspiring and this just adds to that aspect even more. I like it.
