After today’s reveal of the bonkers quick Tesla Roadster and all of its insane numbers, we gave you the view of the DriveTribe staff and what the motoring world thinks. Now though, it’s time to see how it stacks up against the very fastest competition.

For purposes of this comparison we have picked that astonishing 0-60mph time as a benchmark, and frankly, it’s all a bit of a walkover in favour of the newcomer from Silicon Valley.

As the graph demonstrates, all of the track scorching fury delivered by the 592bhp Nissan GT-R Nismo and the 690bhp Porsche 911 GT2 RS is not anywhere near enough. Both are simply left trailing in the Roadster’s wake with a deficit of 0.8 seconds apiece.

The £2.5million Bugatti Chiron fares a little better by only trailing behind by some 0.6 seconds despite the massive price tag. One surprising stat though is the mighty 840bhp Dodge Challenger SRT Demon. As it manages to close the gap to just 0.4 seconds thanks to its drag-strip orientated hardcore setup.

Is the Tesla Roadster going to be beaten by anything with an internal combustion engine? Tell us your thoughts in the comments.
