This is Icon 4x4's Chevy Thriftmaster and we love it
Resto-modded pickup truck has stolen our soul
1950s pickup trucks, when resto-modded, are a sight to behold. Case in point, the Icon 4x4's latest creation. The California-based restomodder has worked its magic on the Chevrolet Thriftmaster and the result is stunning.
Powered by a 6.2-litre LS3 V8, all the 430 horsepower is supplied to the rear wheels. The 4x4 has independent suspension and Brembo brakes. Our only problem is that the engine is mated to a 4L85-E automatic gearbox. Boo.
The lovely two-tone green paint job on the exterior adds to the beauty of the pickup truck. While everything looks retro on the outside, it is a very different story inside.
Inside, apart from the original vanilla-hue Thriftmaster dashboard, you will find many 21st Century like features like a bluetooth audio system which "feeds crystal clear sound", air-con, seats having custom leather and other creature comforts. WOW
The 4x4 also has an African teak bed completed with stainless rails and custom removable cargo hold down pins.
Icon claim that this specific truck was originally a farm truck and restoring it was "a fun, rewarding process.”
Icon built this on the request of a lucky customer. We don't know how much this stunning truck costs.
