This is McLaren's new supercar platform
It has been "designed specifically to accommodate new hybrid powertrains"
Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages, it's time to get hyped about a new hybrid McLaren supercar.
Why? Because McLaren has unveiled a new supercar platform which will underpin the "next generation of electrified supercars." Yes!
Earlier, hybrid powertrain used to add weight to the supercar. Now though, with McLaren's latest platform, the boffins at Woking have used carbon-fibre to a large extent by using "world-first processes and techniques" to reduces the overall weight of the car and also improve the safety of the supercar.
What's more, McLaren CEO claims that this platform has "greater structural integrity and higher levels of quality” than the MonoCell chassis which can be found in every McLaren supercar right now.
The British carmaker said that the 2021 hybrid supercar will be based on this platform. That new hybrid supercar destined to be launched in 2021 is expected to be the replacement of the 570S. We. Can't. Wait.
