Technically this isn't Ducati's first electric bike but in practice, it is. It will replace the Energica Ego Corsa in the MotoE racing series (it is to Moto GP what Formula E is to F1) and it's powered by... we don't know what yet. But the Energica was powered by a 110 kW (147 hp) powertrain so I'm assuming this is at least as powerful. What do we think? I think it looks good.

Looks great…. It’ll just be missing the sound.
Make it sound like a Ducati Panigale V4, (synthesised and probably with in helmet sound or earphones) and a decent range and it nearly works.
Failing that buy a used V4 whilst you still can!
An EV Ducati might actually be reliable, then you’d miss out on all those expensive maintenance trips to the dealership.
It's very much the future, whatever us petrolheads say. I bought myself a brand new Ducati Panigale 1199 S Tricolore, with every option except the dust cover (£200 for a bag was too much even for me!). This was when I HAD money, which illness and time has diminished to zero these days. It is still the bike I miss most and would happily buy another of. The thing is though, that even bike manufacturers have to develop products to future-proof their business. Look at the British bike industry just before the Japanese took over! After owning an electric Nissan Leaf for a year, I can appreciate some of the qualities that silence brings with it. You don't terrify the wildlife. It still hears your tyres, but can react normally, not panic. You can hear the countryside around you and you don't spend your time faffing around adjusting the gearbox. Driving/riding becomes a seamless experience. Your 'throttle' matches your brain without extra thinking about everything else. Even closing the 'throttle' not only slows you down, but recharges your battery at the same time. I remember that just sitting upright at speed, was like hitting the brakes on my Panigale, except on EVs this works all the way down to stationary. On a bike you could even get both-wheel drive to get better re-gen as well as corner speed. It's just different, not worse. I look forward to these new bikes, I really do... whether I'll be able to ride them any more is another thing altogether.
It looks nice, but honestly I don't know I would want an electric bike. It's bad enough too many drivers don't watch for motorcycles if they can't hear them either It compounds the danger of being a rider. Since most race tech developed for track to showcase what they do for the road It is not really that interesting to me. I don't know what the real world will have as motorcycles 20 years from now but if motorcycles are all electric, I think I'll be done with riding. 😣
I didn't know this was a thing. I'm quite interested
