This 1977 911 was recently showcased at SEMA, in Las Vegas, and there's no other way of saying it so I'll just say it: the flat-six has been replaced by an electric powertrain out of a Tesla Model S Performance. People are going to have an opinion on this, that's for sure.
The conversion was made by Porsche specialist Rauh-Welt Begriff and, according to the people that built it, this is a lot faster than a 700-hp ICE equivalent. The electric engine produces 563 hp, which is turn powered by a 32 kWh LG Chem liquid cooled battery. It also has a Tesla limited slip diff to help with all the power and torque.
On the outside, the 911 has been upgraded with a RWB Backdate Body Kit, a RWB “Long Hood” and beautiful Porsche 1957 Ivory Paint with chrome bits and bobs here and there. It sits on 17-inch BBS RS wheels wrapped in Toyo Tires R888R, 245/40 R17 at the front and 315/35 R17 at the rear.
Inside, you'll find fiberglass panels for the cabin, custom-made 356 Speedster seats with Burberry inserts, a RWB chrome plated roll cage and a Momo Indy Heritage steering wheel.
