This is the all-new 2021 Ford F-150
Don't be fooled by the familiar design. The 2021 Ford F-150 is new and better than ever.
The truck that is selling like hotcakes in America is back for the 2021 model year, and it's been completely reimagined to keep what the people liked about the outgoing F-150, removed what people didn't like, and added new features that the people want. I mean, at the end of the day, why fix something that isn't broken?
So what's what with the new F-150?
Don't get me wrong, Ford added plenty of new stuff and things to the car. On the exterior, you immediately notice the next generation of Ford F-150 headlights, which on the higher trims, can be had with LED lights. The grille now has 11 different options, also varing on the trim. The tailgate has been completely redisgned so that it can literally be turned into a workbench. Additionally, wheel wells are more agressive higher up too.
As for the interior, there's quite a few changes going on in there as well. The truck also has a bigger infotainment system. In fact, the standard 4.2-inch infotainment system in the outgoing F-150 has been replaced with a new standard 8-inch infotainment system. If you're greedy, you can opt for the 12-inch display, as long as you upgrade to the XLT series. And now, Ford's latest infotainment systems will automatically update, just like Tesla's over the air updates. On certain trims, you can make the seats recline almost 180 degrees, and make your center console turn into a nightstand, which essentially makes the new F-150 truck a campervan, in that way. And if you don't want to use the F-150's center console extension as a nightstand, you can use it as a desk, or a coffee table. And to make your F-150 even more house-like, you can get it with a generator, which can power a TV, a mini-fridge, or other things. The generator, dubbed the "Pro Power Onboard", can be had with either a 2.4-kW or 7.4-kW. The generator is located on the truckbed for ease of access.
And here's where things get exciting: the new technology. The 2021 Ford F-150 will have a hybrid powertrain, which will help it go 700 miles, and offer best in class horsepower and torque. Not only that, but the new F-150 will offer hands-free driving on roughly 100,000 miles across the United States and Canada.
The truck is set to come out later this year, but the Active Driver Assist will be available next summer. However, you can still get the Active Driver Assist option and have it installed in an OTA (over the air) update.
The Bottom Line is...
The 2021 Ford F-150 kept the good from the previous generation, and added a bunch of goodies and improved a whole lot of things for the new model. The engines, for example, haven't changed: it's still the same 5 gasoline engines and one diesel engine, because they worked, and they worked amazingly. However, the new features like the generator and the drive assist will make the F-150 much more usable, more than it already was. So with that in mind, will you have the new Ford F-150 in your garage in a few months?

Ford is stacking up with "truck things" options and add ons because the Tesla Cyber Truck doesn't look like it's going to be doing any "truck-things" any time soon. Those and that 700 mile hybrid system might make the 'green' truck buyer happy enough without needing an EV pickup right away. If I were 'green' truck guy, I'd get into one of these before fully transitioning to all electric next year with the Rivian based F150. Sort of as a preparation instead of jumping into the EV pickup head first
That makes a lot of sense. The ford is just so much more conventional.
I don’t like trucks but weirdly I like this one. It feels like adding sophistication to it has made it appeal a whole lot more and whilst it’ll never work in the UK (various reasons due to UK quirks) it will help keep its best seller status.
Very big screen. I hope i can watch Netflix on it.
As do I! 😂
Camping in a F-150 + Netflix is always cool 👍
@tribe New article is up! What do you think? Are you a fan of this new Ford F-150?
Indeed I am!
To me it looks like a mix of the Sierra 1500 and the F350
In a way I see it
