THIS IS THE STORY OF OUR OLD BELOVED FAMILY CAR AND THE BRAND NEW REPLACEMENT

GOODBYE KING 307

When my dad bought it in 2002 I was only 3 and I grew up with this car, it's like a brother for me, it's part of our family. It's a sad moment, but as it turns out "Agent 307" it's quite old, the front-left indicator works only punching it, the distribution chain must be replaced, the headlights wouldn't pass the MOT forever they are going matt, there's an akward noise coming from the clutch, etc...

FUNNY STORY : THE GHOST FINE

two years ago we went in Venice, but we slept in Mestre, our hotel was in a limited traffic zone, so the receptionist gave us a form to fill with our data, in order to avoid the fine. of coure we had to write our numberplate, the right one is B****JV (I can't write the complete numberplate on the internet, privacy, but the issue was on the letters), but my mum wrote a "X" instead of the "J", a fortnight later we received the fine. We called the hotel and we discovered the mistake, so we deided to write to Mestre's police to explain the situation and avoid the fine. We sent an email and we waited for the answer. Meanwhile we went to EXPO in Milan and we booked the parking lot in Arese (home of the Alfa Romeo, but that's not important for the story), we had to print a pass and we had to leave it on the dashboard, that morning my brother went to attach the pass on the dashboard when he realized that the numberplate on the pass was wrong, in fact it has a "Y" instead of the "V". He returned in the house and said: "The numberplate on the pass is wrong" and than my mum said: "Impossible we copied it from the Email with the appeal sent to Mestre's police", we checked and we discovered that the numberplate corrected was wrong, we sent the wrong numberplate. But the strangest thing is that Mestre's police ACCEPTED THE APPEAL!!! We still don't know how, but we avoided to pay the fine!!!!

THE END OF THE ROAD

That's it...15/09/2017 the last day for our big, mighty Peugeot 307, 15 years ago my dad entered in our courtyard with this giant. I was only 3 and I lived alongside a little Ford Fiesta, when I saw its big cheeky smile peeking over the gate I stood in amaze hearing the 1.6 litre 4 cylinder engine roaring like Peugeot's Lion. Behind my dad arrived also my uncle driving the Fiesta, he parked it next to the 307, and again I've lost the breath seeing the difference beThat's it...15/09/2017 the last day for our big, mighty Peugeot 307. 15 years ago my dad entered in our courtyard with this giant. I was only 3 and I lived alongside a little Ford Fiesta, when I saw its big cheeky smile peeking over the gate I stood in amaze hearing the 1.6 litre 4 cylinder engine roaring like Peugeot's Lion. Behind my dad arrived also my uncle driving the Fiesta, he parked it next to the 307, and again I've lost the breath seeing the huge difference between the cars. that happened in June, the next month we went on holiday in Fai della Paganella (Trentino Alto-Adige, Province of Trento, Italy), the big lion was roaring on Trentino's mountains, climbing them so well that I became car sick (Yes it's weird for a petrolhead to be car sick)

And today, 15 years and 3 months later, I drove it for the last time coming back from school, I've driven it only 3 times on the same path (from my school in Codogno to my house in Somaglia), in this car I overtook someone (a moped) for the first time, I've selected the 5th gear for the first time in my life, I've almost crashed in a big tractor and I've put it into the garage for the last time before the last trip to Piacenza

My dad (driving) and my brother were insulting a car in front of us that slowed down for no reason, I was amazed by the acceleration, it's big, it has 17" wheels, but it's very reactive

Note the Satnav, the Grip Control, and the LED roof; this car mounts the Allure equipment (Peugeot 2008 equipments: Active (basic equipment), Allure (Best equipnent, chrome bits, refined interiors and some optionals), GT line (sporty version))

Engine: 1.6l, 120 hp, Pure Tech diesel engine

Wheels: 17" with 4 season tyres (useless, in winter they can't drain all the water, and in the summer they wear out faster than summer tyres)

Than my uncle took it for a drive and enjoyed the driving, he said that it's really agile and reactive despite the height and the 17" wheels, at some point my brother tried to operate the Grip Control, my uncle explained that he saw some videos on Youtube where in some offroad test tracks, a 2WD Peugeot 3008 with the Grip Control defeated some 4WD BMW and Audi

NOW IT'S MY TURN!

I tried it coming back from school, I really enjoyed it. The Peugeot i-Cockpit is very useful, the wheel is chubby little and the diles are higher, so the driver can see the speedometer and other diles keeping the eyes high on the road

SEMBRA DI ANDARE SULL'AUTOPISTA CON QUESTO VOLANTINO

WITH THIS LITTLE WHEEL I FEEL LIKE I'M DRIVING A DODGEM

I started the trip behind a slow lorry, bad luck, but when it turned away I've accelerated, and the huge car dashed like a cat, it's really good

on roundabouts I really enjoyed the steering wheel, it's a big car, but as it turned out it felt tiny

the 6-gears gearbox is perfect, but the third gear is a bit hard to select beacause the gearbox is new

the interiors are well refined, the central console is intuitive and practical

Dropping the rear seats the space is enough to contain a 49" TV, a pack of beer (15 bottles 66cl) and 6 water packs (6 bottles per pack, 1/2 litre
