This is the VW ID.4's interior and it's just like its baby brother

We didn't really expect anything less

As many of us expected, the interior of the upcoming ID.4 from VW is pretty much the same as the current ID.3's innards.

The ID.4 will be launched alongside the current ID.3 as a sort of crossover/SUV type car. This is likely to be the one most people opt for and there's a very good reason for it - it's bigger.

Photos of the interior have just been released and Volkswagen describes it as a “modern feel-good lounge” that offers ample space, purist design, high-effect lighting, and sustainable upholstery materials.

The rear seat bench is said to offer as much space as every other SUV and have 543 litres (19.2 cu ft) of boot space with all seats in place. The large door openings, high seating position and optional tilting panoramic sunroof make you feel as though you are in the open.

According to VW, the front seats are sporty and comfortable and bear the seal of approval by the German Campaign for Healthier Backs (AGR) in the ID.4 1ST Max limited edition model. This is all very promising but then again, all VW seats tend to be rather good.

Of course the tech will be up to scratch in the ID.4 too so there's no need to go too into detail on that. The overall inside package looks to be fairly basic yet have everything you need, it's kind of like a labrador. On the whole they are quite basic but they get the job done and are loved by the whole family, if that makes sense.

Do you like the interior of the ID.4?

  • Weird that the interior of the Enyaq iV looks more upscale than this one...

    • Yes it is a bit isn’t it. I’m not gonna lie, I much prefer the Enyaq to this. I think Skoda are going to go on to do great things with EVs

  • Overly simplistic, not an interior design, just a screen holder.

  • I am a fan of the less is more design philosophy. Especially in writing code. Here they may have gone a bit far but it is very clean and simple. I like this. Not sure how I feel about the panel as an instrument cluster behind the wheel. S class does this too and I can already not see it due to glare and I an an ocean away! Time will tell but I suspect my eyes are not deceiving me ... from here.
