What is a wind storm exactly? It's a giant storm with very little rain or snow but very strong winds. It typically kicks up anything found along its path so that any dust or debris will become mini projectiles. Driving thru one of these storms can be downright frightening because you will be constantly pelted with debris and your visibility will be severely limited. Just take a look at this video of a wind storm rolling thru Romania.

The best thing you can do in a case like this is to just safely pull over off the road, keep your lights on, and turn on your hazard lights. There is absolutely no chance that you can safely drive thru the storm as you cannot see the road in front of you, increasing your chance of driving into a ditch/tree/another car. Having your hazard lights on will also help other drivers spot you more easily.

This won't work if you're in a massive tornado of course, in which case, why were you there to begin with? If that's the case then by all means avoid standing still and get out of the storm as fast and as safe as humanly possible.

Have you ever driven thru a storm like this? Tell us below how it felt, what happened to your car, and how you managed to ride out the storm.
