This Land Rover has a BMW M3 engine and it can pull some serious drifts
Land Rover purists please close your eyes, what you are about to see might be highly disturbing to you.
Okay with that tongue-in-cheek warning out the way lets get to the point of this, some mad-genius had created arguably the best SUVs. The car can handle anything from WRC style stages, safari racing to road-trips across the country to said events.
Oh and it can pull off some seriously cool skids along the way...
It's partially thanks to the heart transplant the car went through, this saw it ditch it's TD5 engine for a straight-6 from the BMW E36 M3 with a couple of upgrades seeing to run approximate 350bhp at the wheels.
The engine was moved far into the engine bay effectively making it front-mid-engined. But worry not Landy fans it still retains (most of) it's a 4x4 system, it still uses the TD5 gearbox and transfer box, albeit lightened and with low-range removed, so no rock-climbing unless you do it bloody fast. It's got a new set of KAP 4-Pin limited-slip diffs, and a Porsche 911 4CS viscous coupling driving front wheels.
The chassis has been re-worked to allow the Fox and King suspension on the front and rear respectively, to utilise it's full of 14inch of suspension travel, the whole car including bodywork has been lightened.
Perhaps the best thing is that the car is still MOT'd and fully road legal. Until yesterday the car was available on eBay for a very reasonable £16,000 sadly it seems as though the car has been since left.
