This man has done 100,000 miles in his Porsche Cayman GT4 and we're jealous

And it has a 997 GT3 exhaust note...

Many of us dream of buying a special Porsche such as a Cayman GT4, a GT3 Touring or a Carrera GT, but many of us are either too scared or simply can't afford it. You see, buying a special car to put loads of miles on is often like buying a four-bedroom house in Surrey to be lived in by six southerners and six northerners. It's likely there's going be issues but you may be alright.

Basically, it can be a risk but with Porsche you're generally alright, and this man has proved it. This man is called Phil and he has just passed 100,000 miles in his Porsche 981 Cayman GT4 and I couldn't be more jealous.

Now, this isn't any regular Cayman GT4 as this one has paid a visit to Sharkwerks, the exhaust and tuning company. While it was there, this car received a 997 GT3 intake and throttle body along with a larger IPD plenum for better breathing resulting in one of the best sounds ever.

On top of this, it received a EVOMSit tune which makes the car more responsive and bumps up the power a bit, leaving it as one of the most perfect all-round cars this world has ever seen. And to think it has just crossed 100,000 miles is mind boggling.

To put this into perspective, on the used market here in the UK, if a Cayman GT4 has over 20,000 miles then it is usually thought of as a waste of time to buy. This angers me as the engine and car could quite happily pass 100k miles with ease but it must just be a stigma carried over from Italian car manufacturers such as Ferraris and Lamborghinis of old.

But that's enough of me rambling, sit back, relax and enjoy the video linked in this article. This GT4 sounds immense. And if you want to follow Phil to see more content, then click here. P.S. you can view the moment he passed 100k miles on there too.

How many miles have you done in your Porsche?

  • What’s really good to see is a car being used for it’s intended purpose (driving) rather than being sat locked up as an ornament which arguably a picture or scale model could do.

    That’s a fun 100k miles and I’m jealous too!

  • In a world where GT products from Porsche are bought to speculate, it's refreshing to see a person putting miles on his.

    • Exactly. They’re suppose to be driven and suppose to rack up the miles!

    • Well I know a person who has done 250,000 kilometres on his 997 GT3 and the engine has never needed any overhalling. He says that it is the most mileage accumulated on any porsche in canada.

  • Here we have a man using his Porsche as intended. Such rare sights hardly happen in the wild and we were lucky enough to capture this event so it can be observed and studied for scientific research.

  • How good are you at stealing, Ben?

    Are you stealthy enough?

If you are, you can get away with that GT4, somehow?
