This NASCAR-themed Aston Martin DB5 render is nothing short of spectacular
It even comes equipt with a 5.2L V8 from a Shelby GT350
Aston Martin's DB series is one of the most well known line of grand touring cars of all time. The crown jewel of them all is the classy DB5, best known for its role in the James Bond movie Goldfinger. The DB5 is one of the last cars you'll imagine as a modified track car. Up until now, as designer Abimelec Arellano, the same person who crossbred the F40 and Countach some time ago, reimagined the DB5 as a NASCAR racer.
It's not hard to find styling cues that point to the NASCAR theme. This DB5 is complete with a set of massive Goodyear tires, modified fenders, headlight covers taken from a C1 Corvette, and so on. Inside the largely untampered cabin, Abimelec opted for all green leather and plaid fabric, a fine touch.
While the exterior changes are unique and whatnot, it doesn't compare to what lies under the hood: a 5.2L flat-plane V8 taken from a Mustang Shelby GT350. Assuming it's taken from the more recent GT350s, this DB5 is good for 533 horsepower and 429 lbs/ft of torque, a far cry from the original DB5's 282 hp and 280 lbs/ft.
