This Person Escapes Death After Horrendous Crash
They were almost blown up.
Car stories tend to be funny, cool, or extremely interesting, but this one is different. It's not the kind of story you laugh about 20 years later, oh no. This one might stop someone from driving ever again. Now, before we move on to this scarring story, you need to know that the end is quite a moment. So, without any further ado, here's what happened.
This individual was driving along in a Ford Ranger pickup truck, traveling with their younger sister when, suddenly, the rear end slipped out, spinning the truck into a not-so-relaxing drift. As any other person would do, the driver tried to recover, but over corrected, causing the vehicle to spin even more. To add injury to anxiety, the rear wheel finally caught on the perimeter of the road. You might think this is the end of the story, however you would be very incorrect. The scariest part is yet to be told. Unfortunately, the perimeter of the road led directly to a 20 foot slope. As you can probably guess, the truck wound up rolling down the slope. The driver says that "The rolls were in slow motion..." This alone would scare me to death, not to mention what happened next: Luckily, the truck eventually stopped tumbling and landed, not so luckily, on it's roof. Naturally, the driver began the escape process by shattering the window with a screwdriver, cutting their sister's seat belt off and pulling her out of the car.
At this point, all the damage possible could have occurred: The driver had a broken wrist/arm which was "Hanging by its skin." And the sister had minor cuts and scrapes, they were safe, right? Wrong. As you read in the subtitle, more was yet to come.
After a quite eventful drive, the two of them began their walk up to the road, but was soon startled by the truck catching fire and then exploding, shooting debris everywhere. The explosion was "Not like a movie, fairly small just shooting shrapnel everywhere." You would be dead wrong if you thought the debris was harmless, seeing as a piece from the starter found its way into the driver's stomach. After a long, and almost certainly painful walk, they arrived home. The next day, the driver woke up in the hospital. "I almost died."
