This Porsche 550 replica hides a 400 hp Subaru engine
The Porsche 550 Spyder is undeniably one of the German manufacturer's most desirable cars and even one of the most desirable cars in the world. Many fans want to own the myth. At last year's SEMA Show in Las Vegas, a model of the car caused quite a stir.
This very special 550 Spyder comes from S-Klub. The most observant will have recognized that it is a replica of the sports car. This replica is a success, especially since it is based on a tubular chassis. A new body was then added to mimic the appearance of the real 550 Spyder.
This replica was completed in only four months. Underneath the body is a 2.0L flat-four from a Subaru WRX. It develops 350 hp, even 400 hp when running on E85 ethanol. These figures are even more impressive when you consider the car's mass, which has been reduced to just 680 kg.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual gearbox. The car is also equipped with a custom titanium exhaust system. The engine compartment contains a superb copper trim. The interior of the car remains just as remarkable with ubiquitous blue leather with a retro steering wheel and a wooden gearshift lever.
