Introduction

This Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 is one of the coolest models that I own period. My dad picked these up from me the other day and I was pretty excited to add two more models to my 1/18 scale collection. I own only three, but I love them all. The three are the Laferrari, this Porsche 911 and the Lamborghini Centenario, which I will be writing about next. The Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 uses Porsche's 4.0 L naturally aspirated flat-6 that produces 493 horsepower and 339 lb ft of torque. It can do 0-60 in just 3.5 seconds and has a top speed of 193 mph. The best part of all though was the car came with a manual and three pedals only!

Front end details

The front of the car has so much detail it looks real. The headlights are plastic bubbles that poke out the car and the inside is very shiny. The Porsche logo is printed on the hood with all the correct colors . The silver stripe with red outlines strikes down the roof and the hood of the car. The two vents in the bumper are textured and the vent up along the trunk are painted dark black. The signal lights are white and are outlined with silver same with the small vent in the front bumper. The aggressive front splitter is painted black and the canards are painted in shiny silver. The model even has plastic wind shield wipers, which is an awesome little touch. The front trunk opens and it has realistic textures all around. It even has an emblem that has the words "Porsche" engraved in. Underneath the trunk lid it is completely painted and shows the quality and attention to detail of this model.

Side details

Lets start with the wheels. The wheels are a polished silver and have black center locks with "RS" painted on them in white. The brake calipers are painted bright red and the rotors are very shiny silver. These colors go very well with the Mexico blue paint job. The mirrors are painted silver and have the correct proportions. Blasting along the side of the car is the silver graphics that are outlined in red. At the front it says "RS 4.0" and I think the graphics look awesome.

Interior

The interior is where this model truly shows its detail. The model has bucket race seats that are bright red in the center. The neck of the seats are painted silver and the "RS 4.0" bade is on the headrest. Not to mention the seat buckles are painted red just like on a real car. The center console is padded in red and has the "Porsche" lettering on it. The hand brake is even painted with black and silver at the base. The stick is colored and black and the base is outlined in silver. The entire rim of the steering wheel is silver and the Porsche crest is printed in the middle. It gets even better though. All the gauges are painted and replicated to look like the ones on the real car. The steering wheel as a red center stripe and turn signal stocks. The a/c vents are all silver and so are all the center buttons. Even the limited edition plaque is painted in silver on the passenger side. When you open the door you see the "RS 4.0" stamped on each side and the seat belts are also painted red. One if my favorite parts of the interior is the black roll cage and the three pedals are wrapped in chrome.

Rear details

The taillights are red and white with realistic textures. The wing stems are silver and the top is painted blue. The "Porsche" lettering is written largely on the wing and it looks epic. The Silver stripe with the red outlines glide down to the rear and have the "RS 4.0" lettering. The vents on the hood are textured and painted black. The license plate is painted and the exhausts are chrome.

Engine bay

The first thing you see is the two air-filters that are painted and textured and look so real. There is a front badge that has "RS 4.0" painted on it with the "Porsche" lettering right below. You can see part of the intake manifold and the fluid compartments. All the engine that you can see is painted silver and black. Now if you flip the model upside down, you can see the bottom of the 4.0 L flat-6 and you can see the entire exhaust system. The detail is so extravagant and I am so proud to own this model.

Conclusion

So there you have it. This Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 has so much detail, it feel like the real thing, just scaled down to 1/18. If your looking to start or grow your 1/18 collection I highly recommend you add one of these to your collection. You can buy them at Costco or Sam's club for $15 or you can buy them online, but prices will be much higher. As always if enjoyed don't forget to bump and follow for more content daily! Have a great day!

  • It will look better if the wheels were painted black maybe?
